10 Fun Things I Learnt on My First Week in Mt Shasta (Spiritual Travel Journal #5)

Just out of being childish I compiled 10 fun things I learnt during my first week in Mt Shasta, California :)

Enjoy and have a beautiful start to the week! Xxx

Dandelion leaves are yucky in a sandwich but awesome when sautéed with butter as a side dish.

You can get dizzy by lying down and watching treetops move above you in the wind.

If you choose to wear colourful clothes when in Shasta be open to comments and compliments from people around you. Locals prefer wearing simple clothes and subtle colours so you will sure stand out.

Don't try copying what locals do when crossing a rapid stream as you risk to wet your shoes.

As opposed to London, nights here are noisier than daytime with crickets and cicadas coming to life and competing who is the loudest performer of the night. Earplugs recommended.

You WILL forget or leave behind things that would have been just PERFECT for your travels. So just accept you don't have them and move on.

There are such things as Lemon Cucumbers. They look like mini pumpkins and taste like apple and cucumber combined.

8 - Coming out at night to look up at the stars is fun but be ready to encounter a wild animal who may not be too pleased to be interrupted midway through his dinner. Make sure you can growl too.

Exploring new places always pays off!

Life is full of surprises and staying on technology keeps you away from being surprised

More Shasta magic reports coming soon!

Big Love from the place where Heaven and Earth meet - so locals say!
