Headwaters, Mt Shasta City Park Yesterday was only my 2nd day in Mt Shasta and so much magic happened already!
I was by the sacred Headwaters, the glacier spring waters coming right out of the mountain, a birthing place of Sacramento river. This is a very special healing place where natives, locals and tourists come everyday to pray to the water, sing and play music, and collect pure waters for drinking. A very joyful and tranquil place. You can almost tangibly feel the electrifying energy here.

Crystal clear glacier spring waters I was sitting by the crystal clear water breathing in its freshness and contemplating on life. And near me a local crafts man was crafting a heart out of a crystal - serpentine he found by a lake up on the mountain. I was watching him work, smoothing the stone skilfully and dipping it into the sacred waters.
We started a conversation and this turned out to be the most profound conversation ever! I was amazed how much wisdom and depth held the words he shared with me and how they were what I needed to hear at that moment in time, to calm my mind and give me strength. So in line with what I was contemplating about just a minute ago! This is Shasta synchronicity for you. One of the wisdoms I made a mental note of was "Mouth speaks from the abundance of the Heart". How beautifully simple and profound.
I got to hear the most amazing stories of transformation that occurred in Shasta, and learned about how very blessed the Headwaters are - people have been coming from all over the world to pray and bless the waters for centuries! Can you imagine the energy here? Yesterday alone I heard people play flute, guitar and didgeredoo to the waters.

To my big surprise I also learnt that Mt Shasta is a Volcano!! Yes, my jaw dropped too! She is alive but sleeping Volcano with four craters and a part of a large Volcano Ridge running through North America! Wow, that was unexpected. She looks even more majestic to me now. A truly alive being with many secrets, mysteries and living legends.
Yesterday I was also shown a secret place at the base of the mountain and got invited to a birthday party with performing musicians where pretty much all locals where present So much for one spontaneous day in Shasta! Oh, and guess who now owns the crystal heart made by the Headwaters? My first gift from the Mountain, a courtesy of the craftsman who also turned out to be one of the local spiritual leaders.

Serpentine Heart I'm still amazed how at home I feel here while being so very far away! It's a different country, different continent. Yet Shasta and her people welcome you in as a family and you instantly feel at home.
