Mount Shasta in the morning mist After several weeks of rushing around, packing, arranging, worrying, anticipating and the incredibly tiring 24 hour journey from London to California - I am now in the sanctuary of the majestic Mt Shasta.
It is now 9 am in the morning. I'm sitting on the sun deck of an absolutely charming cottage I'm staying at - with Mt Shasta right in front of me.
It is now 9 am in the morning. I'm sitting on the sun deck of an absolutely charming cottage I'm staying at - with Mt Shasta right in front of me.
She is hugged by the cool of the morning mist. Raising up in the distance like a mirage or a vision. This is how I met her yesterday morning, my first morning here.
I couldn't see anything but the dark silhouette of the nearby hills at first. And then, very slowly, as the early morning mist begun to dissolve, Mt Shasta showed herself to me. Tall, majestic, mysterious.
It was such a mystical and mesmerising appearance of the ancient Temple. She truly knows how to impress travellers! I instantly felt great honour to be here on her land. There was a deep peace within me and a relief - knowing all will be fine, I am looked after, I am home
I'm not usually a morning person when I'm in London but today I woke up at 6.30am, did my long missed yoga on the sun deck joined by the humming birds dancing in the air, a mysterious exotic bird of a deep blue colour basking in the sun and a squirrel. Rich aroma of the pine trees in the air, sparkly dew on the wood of the sun deck and the hot Californian sun. What a blissful place!
