the special Rose
Freebies! Everyone loves them :) They are like an unexpected gift and always come as a surprise and lift our spirits even if it is just a tiny little thing. And whatever shape, form or occasion they come in – we can’t help but feel extra blessed, even if just for a moment.
Over my last few weeks in London in August this year, I happened to have a very sweet experience. Within one week I was given a free mango, then a cucumber (lol yes! a cucumber) and then a beautiful rose. All on some very random occasions. An all had most wonderful and uplifting meaning to me!
Over my last few weeks in London in August this year, I happened to have a very sweet experience. Within one week I was given a free mango, then a cucumber (lol yes! a cucumber) and then a beautiful rose. All on some very random occasions. An all had most wonderful and uplifting meaning to me!
First, I was buying some fruit from a street market and I looked at some mangoes deciding to get a few next time I am there. And when I paid and received my shopping bag I noticed a mango in there. I looked at a shop assistant with a surprise and he smiled saying it’s a little gift for me. He saw me checking them out :) How sweet! It was just a mango but somehow this one was especially delicious when I ate it thanking universe for the sweet unexpected gift and kindness of the man at the market.
Couple days after, I was receiving a delivery from a supermarket and when checking the groceries I realised there was an extra cucumber. I flagged it to the delivery man and he said I could have it. As a gift to someone who truly appreciates the greens - he joked when looking at my delivery box contents. So I got myself a free cucumber. I laughed at the universe’s quirky sense of humour and again thanked them for the delightful freebie.
Another day passed and I was walking home from a park along a street of residential houses. Deep in thought, I wasn’t paying much attention to what was happening around me but then I realised there was a group of young boys walking right before me, around 15-16 yrs old. They were chatting loudly and being boys. I quickly caught up with them as I was walking faster. And suddenly, one of the boys turned around, reached out to the top of the nearby rose bush, plucked a beautiful rose - and gave it to me with the worlds: “This is for you!” Wow that was a surprise!
I thought there was probably some joke following this but no one laughed or said anything naughty. So I took it and said it was very beautiful. And the boy said: “Just like you” Aww. I walked on with a big smile on my face and the boys got back to their chatting. I looove flowers and this was a truly beautiful deep red coloured rose. How magical!
Little random presents like these from the universe and people I don’t know – I always find them very magical!
What made me laugh a day later - was this: I was in town walking to a meeting along a road and I heard a motorbike driving slowly near me. Driver’s walkie talkie was making ringing sounds so it caught my attention. It so happened that he stopped the motorbike right near me, got the walkie-talkie out and answered the call. ” I am receiving” he said. It made me laugh! He had to stop right near me so I could catch this phrase and indeed I WAS RECEIVING a lot of unexpected little gifts that week! :)
From these sweet events unfolding within a space of a few days, I realised that I must have been on the right track – of relaxing into RELAXING INTO RECEIVING AND ALLOWING THINGS TO COME. Whatever small or big they were. It was also sweet to know that I am looked after and there is always a place for magic in every day – when you least expect it.
With all the upcoming big changes in my life, of course, I held a lot of worried thoughts on my mind. And these random surprises from the world around me were just a timely reminder – that ALL IS WELL and I don’t need to worry about a thing.
Now you know that - a mango, a cucumber or a rose can be a good omen when you need it most ;) Or any other freebie-like gift you may receive. Relax! All Is Well! Magic is EVERYWHERE <3
