Open your Heart and Mind to This Possibility!
Stories like this show us that Magic is Alive!
That Impossible is indeed Possible and that our Reality can Change for the better in an instant.
Yes, an Instant!
Much sooner than we could ever expect it to. Beyond the ability of our Mind to grasp and work out all the How’s. Beyond our logical conclusions and calculations...
June 2015, Liepaja, Latvia
Incredible! Life is indeed quite something!
It is pretty mind-blowing how quickly one's Reality can shift from One to a Completely Different One.
It is now a week from my laser eye operation and I can SEE the world!
Up and close :) There is no more heaviness of the thick glasses separating me from it!
The sky has never been so blue! And the sense of a miracle has never been so apparent!
This is to add that I wasn't planning to have the operation done this year at all. Nor did I have the financial resources to fund it to begin with…
But! The Universe has shown me yet again that Anything and Everything is Possible.
Much sooner than we would ever expect it.
If only we let ourselves be guided by the signs around us and our beautiful Heart.
In March this year I happened to be staying at my friend’s house in Epsom, Surrey, beautiful, green and affluent town near London. I had a misfortune of becoming homeless in February and at the same time – a massive fortune of finding many hidden blessings in that situation. Many people offered me help and I had been moving from place to place since. In March it was Epsom that became my temporary home. [You can read the full story in Finding Hidden Blessings in Life’s Adversities by moi].
While staying in Epsom, almost every day I would walk to and from the train station as I travelled into London and back and got groceries from the food store at the station.
There was a massive billboard on the way to the station and I would pass it frequently, noticing many funky and catchy ads. Smiling at the often random and ridiculous messages they conveyed. Advertising companies can be overly creative sometimes! :)
One evening I was walking from the food store carrying bags, looking under my feet deep in thought.
I was passing my favourite billboard paying no attention to it. But suddenly, in the corner of my eye I saw a phrase on the billboard that made me - stop, turn and stare at it in disbelief...
What my eye caught was a website in the bottom corner of the billboard saying: www.visitlatvia.com. Visit Latvia! Latvia being my home country! WOW!
In all 10 years that I had lived in London I had never, and I mean NEVER, seen an ad promoting my country as a tourist destination. Not a poster or a tiniest leaflet… Ever.
THIS was a Mahussive Billboard telling me to Visit Latvia!
The advertising company probably naively believed that the sophisticated people of Epsom would be drawn to visit Latvia because there was a ‘wealth of great museums’. That was what the billboard was selling :)
It was pretty funny that I had to be staying in the affluent town of Epsom at the time when this charming advertising campaign was on.
I stood there motionless, seriously stunned. You don’t often get crazy clear messages like this.
The thing was, I had zero intention to be visiting Latvia this year.
I had just come back from a truly magical 6 months trip in North America and Hawaii. I was craving more adventure. I had just felt the taste of freedom and I was planning to continue with exploring new destinations as soon as possible.
I did not even consider going home this year. I was very keen to discover new places and countries.
I stood at the billboard for another while, blinking thoroughly to make sure I was really seeing what I was seeing and it wasn’t just my imagination...
A Possibility or Just a Dream?
On the way home I wondered - why would I be called to Latvia so clearly? Why do I need to be there this year?
A crazy thought crossed my mind and I got all excited for a moment.
Maybe. Only maybe! This could be THE year I could finally (!) have the laser operation done on my eyes?!
Woohoo! I had been dreaming to do it for years now. My short sight was getting worth and it was hugely effecting the quality of my life. If I was to do this operation I would only consider doing it in Latvia. I trusted local doctors, it costed much less and I would have the support of my family.
My excitement faded away pretty quickly when I realised - it was not possible.
After my USA trip I did not have enough savings to fund the operation and I could see no other ways of making it happen. So I left this idea.
But a funny thing happened a few days later. A friend who I was staying with brought home a souvenir given to her by a colleague.
You’ll never guess what it was!
It was a box of chocolates. From.....
Yes, LATVIA!
More so, the top of the box featured pictures from my MOST favourite and Latvia's most important annual holiday called Ligo!
Ligo is a beautiful ancient pagan festival that celebrates the Summer Solstice and the Magic of Light in the month of June. We honour the shortest night and the longest day in the year.
Traditionally, we stay up all night till the break of dawn to meet the morning Light. We do massive bonfires across the whole country, jump over the fire to cleanse, weave flower crowns for girls and oak tree leave crowns for boys, sing songs and dance.
I've loved this celebration since my childhood days! It has strong ties with pagan traditions, powerful connection to nature and is filled with magic and community spirit.
Seeing this box of chocolates and the beautiful images of Ligo holiday made me crave to be home this June really badly.
I was being hesitant about the whole idea, but day after day as I passed by the Visit Latvia billboard, I grew stronger in my desire to try and make this happen.
One day I finally made up my mind and decided to speak to my parents and book flights to Latvia and see what would happen from there.
That day I also shared my crazy idea of having the operation this year on facebook and how it was born from me seeing the billboard message.
A friend commented with: “You can make anything happen Lidija! Anything you put your heart to!”
This beautiful message became my mantra for this new adventure :) (Thank you Danny, I bet you didn't realise the power of what you said that day).
The most amazing thing was, that the next day after I officially announced my plans – the billboard had changed!
They removed the Visit Latvia ad and replaced it with an ad promoting lager ;)
The universe was totally waiting for me to make up my mind and commit to my dream, before they had changed the message.
And then EVERYTHING TOOK OFF! I was amazed to see how once I committed to my dream, the things started to shift and evolve very rapidly.
I began to have private clients who found my work very beneficial and were willing to have longer sessions with me which meant my operation fund was growing quickly.
My parents very generously offered to contribute whatever funds I was missing. And, in the meantime, I found an eye clinic I felt good about and I registered myself for a consultation.
Unbelievably, but soon the June was here, it was time to catch my flight home - and I had EVERYTHING I needed for the operation!
This was quite a miracle on its own already.
I realised that we are ALWAYS looked after and we can bring in what is good for us - when we Trust the Natural Flow and Unfolding of events.
Now, I am sitting in my room, gazing through the window with my brand new eyes in absolute awe.
I went from having short sight from my early teenage years culminating in the massive -9.5D last year when I was 30.
That is almost -10D if you take astigmatism into account.
To give you an idea, an average person would have a short sight of -1.5D to -3D. And -5D, for instance, would be already considered a pretty low sight. Are you feeling the difference?
My case meant everything further than a couple of inches from my nose - was a blur.
I would frequently panic in the mornings when my glasses would miraculously escape from the bedside table and I would have to crawl around the room to find them or call for help. After years of wearing contact lenses my eyes gave up and could only take glasses.
It is now, only a couple of days from my operation, and I am already slowly regaining the Eagle Sharp sight.
It is pure magic at its best! A True Miracle!
I know, probably thousands of people have laser sight correction done every year and it is considered a pretty common surgery. Yet for me, to shift from navigating my life with considerate discomfort and help of seeing 'tools' to a complete freedom from it all – it is, to say the least, Shammmazing!!
I remember seeing tears in my parent’s eyes when I came out of the operation room, walking confidently WITHOUT my glasses on! Even though my sight was yet to stabilise fully over the period of 6-9 months, I could instantly see so much better and this was already showing in my posture and the increased sense of confidence.
The first 3 things I noticed with my brand new eyes were:
- the incredible depth of the skies (!)
- the amount of detail all around (wow!)
- and that my jacket needed a good wash (oh dear!)
Lessons from the Universe
The Universe, of course, had her curious tricks up the sleeve for me during the fulfilment of my ‘New Eyes' mission.
First, I had to face completely Letting Go of the hope to have my new life with the new eyes when the doctor showed much hesitation in recommending the operation to me…
I had to spend 3 hours in the not knowing while the doctors were having discussions and I was sitting at a café waiting.
During that time I went through the feelings of desperation, hope, deepest sadness. Eventually 'arriving' at making peace with where I was and that if I had to carry on with my life in the same way - it was fine too.
When it was time to hear the verdict - I was so happy to learn there was a special operation method available that could fit my eyes!
The Green light was on! Woohoo!
Universe often makes us Let Go of the Urgency, the Energy of Need and Desperation, before we are granted our wishes.
When we Let Go and Relax - we are in a state of acceptance, calmness and openness. Our receptivity is pure.
The truth is - little good can flow to a stressed and anxious being. That is why Surrender and Acceptance of what is are the key!
I learnt that the type of operation required for my eyes could only be done in Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania, our neighbouring country.
This meant I was up for a trip! It made me laugh as I have been on the move ever since August 2014 and more travel meant more fun! ‘No month without a Voyage’ was becoming my motto :)
Curiously, the original date of the operation was later shifted to - the very peak time of the Summer Solstice! This meant a triple power Blessing for me :)
Summer Solstice is a truly magical time of the year, when the Light is celebrated and the energies of Creation are most abundant.
It is believed the Summer Solstice power is truly ripe 2 days after June the 21st (the day of the Summer Solstice). And it so happened that my operation was scheduled precisely for June the 23rd. How special!
The 23rd of June is the day of the beautiful public holiday I told you about – Ligo. In Latvia this celebration is as big as the New Year's Eve!
It was super sweet to know that while I was to be in the operating room the whole country would be cheering me on :) With bonfires, music and fun!
Of course, on approaching of THE Day, I was getting increasingly nervous. After all, it was my sight at stake and I still couldn't brush off the memory of doctor's initial hesitation about the whole idea.
To calm my senses I was given many sweet signs by the Universe on my way to Vilnius.
All Will Be Well the universe insisted :) as me and my parents took the 5 hr drive to our destination.
There was an Angel statue seated on top of the big Vilnius city border sign - which put a massive smile to my face.
The Angel had a very carefree look: chubby cheeks, cute little wings and his feet were hung down in a playful manner. I work with the Angelic realms very closely and seeing an Angel is always very comforting and reassuring for me. Especially such a relaxed and playful one!
We also came across many road signs with ‘Lida’ written on it. Lida being my nick name in Russian! Short from Lidija. The road signs indicated the way to a Belorussian town called Lida.
I can tell you for sure - nothing can be more reassuring and calming in that you ARE indeed where you are meant to be, than seeing your OWN NAME written on every second road sign you see! :)
Just as I was beginning to feel overwhelmed with the synchronicities, magic and the thought of what was about to happen – me and my parents were told there was a private spa at the hotel we were staying at. And it was available exclusively to the 3 of us.
Ahh, what else can one ask for to soothe the mind and chase away the pesky worries the night before the BIG day? :) I've always loved sauna. It relaxes me in the most nurturing way.
To sum everything up, the last beautiful sign came just before I went to bed that night.
It was a very special picture and a poem a friend of mine shared with me. She knew nothing about the upcoming surgery and yet she chose to send it to me THAT night.
On the picture there was a glowing Being of Light with a Peace Dove above her head, with her 3rd eye brightly illuminated.
The 3rd eye being directly related to our Eyes! Our physical and inner vision.
The poem beautifully spoke about the important mission one has. It spoke of courage, strength and independence.
This little poem touched me very deeply.
It was such a magical synchronicity to receive this special message as my life was about to change. So symbolic of what I was moving into!
The day of the surgery went very smoothly and the doctors were super professional and accommodating.
There were, of course, nerves and worries but all went by so quickly. The actual operation took about half an hour to do. And the relaxation pills worked their magic, sending me into a happy and giggly state :)
One minute I was the old Lidija – and the next minute – it was the new me, starting a completely new life.
This was such a great example of how one’s reality can shift completely - almost in an Instant.
In March I had no plans of having this life-changing surgery done any time soon and 3 months later I was already walking out out of the clinic with my brand new eyes.
Truly fascinating!
This quick transition from one reality to another can happen to anyone!
You never know what tomorrow, or even the next hour, holds for you.
You could accidentaly bump into someone significant for your journey. Simply on the street. You could come across an important piece of information and feel inspired to take action.
It could be anything!
The Universe is incredibly inventive when it comes to guiding us.
All we have to do is:
Stay open to Guidance.
Listen to the Heart.
Be a bit crazy at times.
And never stop believing in Magic!
This beautiful life change was very symbolic for me.
Being free from the glasses not only meant a much greater quality of life.
It also meant there was now no more ‘barrier’ or ‘wall’ between me and the world. Between me and people. My friends, students, clients, strangers...
It was now time to Come Out and Shine.
Regain my full Confidence, Self-esteem and get busy with fulfilling my life’s mission in a much more expanded and courageous way.
Oh Yeah!
